Naymuzzaman Prince's photography exhibition titled, Humans of ICPD: Faces of Bangladesh is being held at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi.
As a developing country, Bangladesh has traversed a long way and has showed sign of developments in many areas sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and sustainable development.
United Nations Population Fund (Unfpa) has played an important role in achieving those developments.
Displayed photos at this exhibition demonstrate ICPD agenda in Bangladesh, which is expected to generate momentum ahead of the Nairobi Summit to accelerate the progress of the ICPD agenda.
In one of the photos the visitor can have a look into the doctors' attempts to ensure safe childbirth, while another one shows training session for women.
Most of the photos on display at the exhibition depicts various professional individuals who play a key role in the development and health care in the rural areas. These photos will inform the key stakeholders and the visitors about the ICPD Programme of Action’s principles.
About the photographer:
Dhaka based photographer Naymuzzaman Khan Prince is also a visual story teller. His main areas of interest are socio-cultural subjects such as women and women rights, culture and identity, worker, health, population and development, environment and climate change, politics and political violence, religion, among others.
His works featured in national and international publications as well as exhibited in Bangladesh and abroad, both at solo exhibitions and international festivals.
Planning Minister M A Mannan, attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest while Unfpa Bangladesh representative AsaTorkelsson attended the opening ceremony as the special guest.
The exhibition which began on Saturday, will be open to all till November 12.
