Independent University, Bangladesh's (IUB) Film Club hosted an alternative screening of “Live from Dhaka” on Thursday.
Shamsur Rahman Alvi, the producer of the film was present during the screening and later took part in an interactive discussion.
President of IUB Film Club Syed Wadud, and Faculty Advisor to the club Tazeen Ahmed, were also present at the occasion, among others.
The audience was packed with IUB students, staff, and faculty members who enthusiastically enjoyed the film.
Directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad, “Live From Dhaka” had its theatre release on March 29. The IUB event— held on the university premises in room number 7002— was the film's first public screening.
The film won Best Director and Best Actor Awards at Singapore International Film Festival in 2016 and was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2017. The film has received much praise at home and abroad.
