Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until June 30, 2029, committing his future to the German champions after a remarkable spell since joining the club in 2023.
The England captain has scored 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances for Bayern, establishing himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the club’s history.
Since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups. He has also finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in each of his seasons with the club.
Kane, who was named the world’s best player last week, said he was delighted to continue his journey with Bayern, where he has settled with his family.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay,” Kane said.
“I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
Bayern president Herbert Hainer described Kane’s development at the club as a special chapter in its history, saying the striker had earned a place in the hearts of the supporters.
“What began as a major transfer has, over time, become a special chapter in FC Bayern’s history. Harry Kane lives up to every promise football has to offer, and he has secured his place in the hearts of the fans as one of the greatest figures in the sport of our time,” Hainer said.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said the extension was a significant moment for the club and the Bundesliga.
“We’re delighted to have successfully extended Harry Kane’s contract. This is fantastic news for us, for our fans and for the Bundesliga. The Ballon d’Or winner is staying at Bayern Munich!” Dreesen said.
“Since joining us in 2023, he has achieved extraordinary things with his goals, his influence on the game and as a role model both on and off the pitch. He has long since made FC Bayern his home, has continued to develop with us and crowned that development with the Ballon d’Or. His contract extension is a commitment to FC Bayern and to a story that is far from over.”
Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said the new deal would provide greater certainty for the club’s long-term planning, while sporting director Christoph Freund praised Kane’s qualities as both a player and a leader.
