To Be Continued: Director turned actor

Back in 2011, famous director Iftekhar Ahmd Fahmi started a new venture titled To Be Continued – a full length film, featuring Tahsan Khan and Purnima. The news of Tahsan-Purnima’s pairing in the film created quite a stir among the fans of these actors. The shooting for the movie started immediately and everything was going good, until one of the principal characters of the film, Tahsan decided to stop working in the film. Anyway, the production went on without the celebrated musician and actor. Dubbing of the film has finally ended in 2016, and this year, the crew of the film declared that To Be Continued is going to be released this year. The director came up with the news and said, “It’s been a long time, and the work is done. Production house Channel I is going to submit the film to the censor-board and then we’ll decide the date of the release.” Hearing the news, another debate has popped up as sources confirmed that Tahsan has a cameo in the final production which means a total of 4 minutes on-screen. People have been wondering how the director managed to complete shooting for the movie, keeping the central characters apart. When asked, director Fahmi chose a safer way and ambiguously replied, “The story of a movie can be changed over time. Finishing the movie is important and that’s what I did.” “Tahsan will be seen in the movie as long as he is needed for the story. Personal relationship is one thing, but when it comes to work, personal relationship doesn’t count,” he added. However Fahmi, the director, turned out to be the dark horse who actually acted in the principal role of the film, and it was predetermined from the beginning of the production. Sources confirmed that Tahsan did not know about the secret in the first place, but immediately left the movie upon hearing so. “It’s been 6 years. The story of the film changed a lot during the shooting. That’s why I parted ways from the production and requested not to keep me in the movie. All the best wishes for them,” said Tahsan. Iftekher Ahmed Fahmi’s big-screen directorial début To Be Continued was announced during May of 2011, when Fahmi was at the peak of his career. This was also singer-turned-actor Tahsan’s debut, with Purnima alongside him. Branding of the movie has been centred around the pair ever since. Despite all the controversies regarding the central role, Purnima, Mita Chowdhury, Abul Hayat, Aporna Ghoshe, Mishu Sabbir and Romel will be seen in the film.
