The election of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samiti, the organisation of film actors in Bangladesh, will take place on May 5. The news has come after three weeks of expiration of the existing panel. President of the existing executive panel, Shakib Khan disclosed the notice after a meeting with the panel, which was held on Sunday at the committee’s office.
The validity of the committee has expired last February. According to the clause 8(Cha) of the constitution of the organisation, the election must be held within the extra 90 days of the previous committee, after their expiration. However, the previous committee will be considered active until the day of the election.
The extra 90 days for the current panel will end on May 8.
“We are organising the election within the rules. The extra 90 days for us will come to an end on May 8 and the election will take place on May 5 before the expiration,” said the man at the helm, Shakib Khan.
The Dhallywood sensation also added, “We want the Samiti to serve for the betterment of the actors. There is no personal benefit whatsoever. As a result, by keeping it in mind, we are working towards securing a fair and square election after every two years.”
Although, schedule for the election hasn’t been announced yet, Shakib Khan looks forward to announce it within a day or two.
One of the presumed candidates for the helm, Misha Sawdagar appreciated the announcement. He said, “What we wanted is that the election takes place within the rules. It doesn’t matter who wins at the end. We just want the election to be finished in an enjoyable environment.”
Two different panels have been formed surrounding the election. One of which consists of Misha Sawdagar for the president’s chair, along with Zayed Khan for the post of General Secretary, while Omar Sani leads the other panel with Ilias Kobra for General Secretary. Both of the panels have formed the full panel of 21 members, and are about to reveal it after the announcement of the schedule.
