These are difficult times to be living in. The threat of Covid-19 has nations scrambling, and it is a collective battle we are all part of to stop this deadly virus.
However, as individual citizens, there are some things we can all DO to handle this crisis:
· DO practise social distancing and staying home if possible. Yes, it may be difficult to not see your friends or loved ones, but you are far more likely to get infected by the coronavirus if you are in close proximity to other people. Stay home if possible and as much as possible
· DO take quarantine seriously. If you feel you are unwell, or have come into contact with people who may possibly be infected, isolate yourself, for the sake of you and your family
· DO wash your hands often, ideally with any soap and water. Take your time to thoroughly wash your hands, including fingers, the back of your hand and nails, and lather for at least 20 seconds, as it takes that time to kill the virus. In addition, you can also use a hand sanitizer but make sure that it is one which has a high alcohol percentage
· DO become an informed citizen. It is unfortunate that there are those amongst us who choose to spread misinformation and cause unnecessary panic. Stick to reputed sources, and hold your ground against the spread of misinformation to unnecessarily panic the general public
· DO exercise consideration and show compassion. It is now more important than ever to follow the rules and regulations that are being implemented, so that our health care workers can do their job to the best of their abilities
· Ultimately, DO your part by being a positive influence and part of the solution instead of adding further problems
We are all in this together, and together, we can fight this.
