Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices by Tk3,265 per bhori, effective from Thursday.
From now on, a bhori of quality gold will cost Tk78,265 for buyers, along with VAT and making charges.
With 5% VAT and Tk2,000 to Tk3,000 making charges, a customer now has to pay Tk85, 178 per bhori.
MA Hannan, chairman of the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Jewellers' Association, confirmed to UNB the latest price hike.
BAJUS leaders said the gold price has been adjusted with the global market rate.
On February 10, gold prices were hiked by Tk1,867 and the fixed market price of per bhori good quality gold was Tk75,000.
According to BAJUS, a 22-carat bhori gold ornament will be sold at Tk78,265.
Meanwhile, 21 carat gold prices have been increased by Tk3,091 to Tk74,766, 18 carat gold price rose Tk2,333 to Tk64,152 and in traditional method, gold ornaments price increased by Tk2,216 to Tk53,421.
However, the price of silver has remained unchanged.
