Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus) has announced to cut gold prices by Tk2,916 per bhori.
The price of 22-carat gold per bhori now stands at Tk79,548, from Tk82,464, effective from Friday, as gold prices have dropped in the international market.
The announcement came on Thursday in a notification signed by Enamul Haque Bhuiyan Liton, vice chairman of Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
Twenty-one-carat gold will be sold at Tk75,932 per bhori and 18-carat gold at Tk65,085 per bhori. The price of traditional gold stands at Tk54,237.
On May 22, Bajus increased gold prices by Tk4,196 per bhori.
Before that, on May 17, gold prices were hiked by Tk1,750 per bhori.
