The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Thursday re-fixed the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for retail level as the part of adjusting its price every month in coordination with the Saudi Contract Price (CP).
As per re-fixed price, the price of LPG from private companies has been fixed at Tk75.49 per kg, while the price of a cylinder with 12 kilogram capacity has been re-fixed at Tk906 including VAT, which was Tk975 earlier.
However, the price of a 12 kg cylinder will remain the same at Tk591 at the government level, as it has no relation with Saudi CP.
The commission revealed this price at a virtual press conference on the day.
BERC Chairman Abdul Jalil, secretary Rubina Ferdoushy, members of the commission Mohammad Abu Faruqe, Maqbul-E-Elahi, Bazlur Rahman, and Md Kamruzzaman were present at the conference.
Earlier, on April 12, the commission announced the price of LPG for the running month. It was the first time that BERC announced a uniform price of LPG.

When the price of Saudi CP changes at the end of each month, the commission will issue a new order to change the price of LPG.
According to the conference, the price of autogas has also been reduced from Tk47.92 to Tk43 per liter. The changed price will be effective from May 1.
“This will be applicable for the month of May until further adjustment in the Saudi CP,” said BERC Chairman Abdul Jalil.
Moreover, BREC has also ordered to re-fix the prices of 5.5, 12.5, 15, 16, 18, 20, 25, 30, 33, 35, and 45 kg LPG.
