The price of jet fuel has been reduced from Tk111 to Tk93.57 per litre for domestic flights and from $0.75 to $0.6066 per litre for international flights, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced on Tuesday.
In addition, the storage and distribution charge of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has been revised to Tk4.04 per litre, while Padma Oil Company Limited’s marketing charge for Jet A-1 (aviation fuel) has been set at Tk0.88 per litre.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday midnight, confirmed the BERC.
The commission set the prices inclusive of duty and VAT for domestic flights and duty- and VAT-free for international flights.
According to the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act 2003, BPC submitted a proposal on January 20 to determine the price of Jet A-1 (aviation fuel), inclusive of duty and VAT for domestic airlines and duty- and VAT-free for international airlines.
Following that, on February 18, Padma Oil Company Limited submitted its revised marketing charge proposal for Jet A-1 fuel distribution to the commission.
