BERC reduces jet fuel price by Tk 15.67 per liter

'The new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to June 7, 2026,'

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Sunday decreased Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price for domestic and international airlines by TK 15.67 and $0.10 per liter respectively.

According to the regulatory commission circular issued on Sunday, the price of Jet A-1 fuel was declined by TK 15.67 per liter to TK 150.21 from TK 165.88 for domestic careers.

Secretary of BERC Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar said that the price has been decreased by $0.1015 per liter to $0.9808 from US$1.0823 for international airlines.

The new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to June 7, 2026, he said.

The regulatory agency said considering the Platts rate from May 22 to June 4, 2026 on an average, the commission circular said.

The BERC held a public hearing on Sunday in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 in view of the proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL). 

Considering detailed price according to Platts rate of Jet A-1 from May 22, 2026 to June 4, 2026 along with the US dollar exchange rate in Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation's (BPC) Letter of Credit (LC) settlement, the BERC adjusted the price for June.
