  • Rizvi criticized Sheikh Hasina's approach of attacking BNP activists
Update : 13 Nov 2024, 11:35 PM

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed said that Sheikh Hasina fled the country like a selfish person by leaving her companions.

He said this while inaugurating as the chief guest a free eye camp for July uprising injured and poor people in the capital’s Banani as the chief guest, on Wednesday.

At the directives of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and chief patron of 'Amra BNP Paribar' conducted the eye camp.

Rizvi said a few days ago, the Awami League threatened to take control of the capital city on the occasion of Noor Hussain Day but they couldn’t do anything.

“BNP leaders and activists only brought out some processions on the day but they didn’t guard at different points with guns likewise Awami League men,” he added.

He said that Awami League leaders and activists were not seen anywhere on the day because Sheikh Hasina prepared them for only looting.

Noting that a Chhatra League leader of Faridpur had smuggled TK2000 crores, he said that Sheikh Hasina asked her party men to loot as much as they could, but don't let BNP take to the street and whenever they (BNP men) come out, swoop on them like hyena.

“This was Sheikh Hasina's policy. Its consequences have been dire. Sheikh Hasina left her companions and fled selfishly,” he said.

The BNP leader said there is no room for a “bloodthirsty murderous hero” like Sheikh Hasina to regain power in the country.

He asked Sheikh Hasina to seek mercy from Allah for the sins she committed by killing a massive number of people including children.

Rizvi said that Sheikh Hasina held hostage the country’s independence and sovereignty and gave those to a neighbouring country for only clinging to power.

Now it is only demand of the people that the interim government should reveal all the agreements Sheikh Hasina inked from 2009 to August 5, 2024.

Noting that Sheikh Hasina had no patriotism, he said Sheikh Hasina’s government signed an unfair and unjust agreement in the power sector with India’s Adani group.

Rizvi reiterated his call to the interim government to take effective measures to break the market syndicates to reduce the prices of commodities.
