Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discriminatory Student Movement, has said that the responsibility of the interim government formed through this uprising will be to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the students and citizens, not to fulfill the power ambitions of any particular party or group.
He said: “This popular uprising by students and the public has been initiated to repair the state of Bangladesh and eliminate the fascist system.”
He made these remarks in a post on his Facebook profile on Wednesday.
Asif mentioned that the students and the public will remain vigilant and alert until the proposed interim government by the students and public is established and the state is repaired according to their demands.
He further wrote that the anti-discrimination student movement is organized and working alongside the people to prevent any kind of communal provocation, damage to public property, and disorder.
He added: "We fought for peace, and now we are taking responsibility to heal the damages of that war. I salute the students and public who are taking responsibility for the country through voluntary activities."
