A joyful rally was held in Naogaon as MP Sadhan Chandra Majumder, elected for the fourth time from Naogaon-1 constituency, got appointed as Minister of Food for the second consecutive time.
Following the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet of ministers on Thursday night, the district Awami League organized a rally that began at the Sarisha Hati intersection in the city and circled several routes.
District Awami League Joint General Secretary Babu Biwas Majumdar Gopal led the rally.
Leaders and activists from district Awami League, Jubo League, Mahila League, Chhatra League, among others from various levels of organization, were present.
Local Awami League leaders and activists held a joyful rally across Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder's constituency (Sapahar, Porsha, Niamatpur). Activists cheered by playing drums, sparking firecrackers, and distributing sweets.
District Awami League Joint General Secretary Biwas Majumder Gopal expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for appointing Sadhan Chandra Majumder, who emerged from the grassroots, as food minister for the second time.
Organizing Secretary Ilias Tuhin Reza said: "Sadhan Chandra Majumder has been reappointed to the same ministry by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina due to his display of qualifications as the food minister for the first time."
Notably, Sadhan Chandra Majumder was elected as a Member of Parliament from Naogaon-1 Constituency in 2008 for the first time on the nomination of Awami League. Then he was elected Member of Parliament for the second time in 2014 and for the third time in 2018. After that he became the minister of the food ministry for the first time. In 2024, Sadhan Chandra Majumder was appointed as the Minister of Food for the second time after being elected by a large number of votes.
