As part of the simultaneous movement to oust the government, Ganatantra Mancha, an alliance of seven political parties, has announced protest rallies in all districts across the country including Dhaka on January 25.
Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), announced the new sets of programs from Monday's demonstration in Dhaka, protesting electricity price hike.
The protesters said Ganatantra Mancha will advance the fight to bring down the government.
At the protest, Swapan said that the trend of simultaneous movement will be strengthened through the protest rallies on January 25.
He said: “The struggle to bring down this fascist government and establish a democratic regime will intensify.”
Leaders and activists of Ganatantra Mancha, a new alliance of seven political parties, have staged a demonstration in the capital protesting the electricity price hike, at 11am in front of the National Press Club. This protest rally was organized as part of the third program of the simultaneous movement with the BNP.

Earlier in the morning, the leaders and activists of the parties in the alliance came to the rally venue with a procession. However, not all the top leaders in the alliance came to the rally.
Saiful Haque, general secretary of Biplobi Workers Party, said: "This year is very important. The politics of the next 10/15 years will be fixed this year. We have said that all patriotic and democratic people of the entire country will stand on the streets simultaneously and establish voting rights."
He said: “Bangladesh would not have had to take a $4.5 billion IMF loan if “there were no corruption and looting over the last 14 years.”
Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganasamhati Andolon, said there can be no election under the current government.

Bhashani Onusari Parishad's Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Mir Mofazzal Hossain, Habibur Rahman Habib, Chief Coordinator of State Reform Movement's Hasnat Qayyum, General Secretary of Nagrik Oikya Shahidullah Kaiser, Abul Hasan Rubel of Mass Solidarity Movement, AKM Jamir of JSD spoke at the program as well.
Meanwhile, the Ganatantrik Bam Oikya held the same program of protest rally in front of the National Press Club in the morning.
Dhaka TribuneCommunist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist) General Secretary Harun Chowdhury, Social Democratic Party Convener Comrade Abul Kalam Azad, General Secretary of the Samajtantrik Majdur Party Shamsul Alam and Progressive Democratic Party Secretary General Harun Al Rashid spoke at the program.
Later, the leaders and workers of the alliance went to their offices in Purana Paltan after a protest rally.
