Bangladesh Chhatra League's newly elected President Saddam Hossain said that he will work for decentralizing the responsibilities of the ruling party's student front.

“We want a participatory leadership model. I will work to implement a Central Executive Parliament. Decentralization of responsibilities will make the organization's work more dynamic,” he said at an event held at Dhaka University on Wednesday.

He also said that a conference is the only solution to avoid complaints regarding the elections held for selecting the next leaders.

“If there is a conference in an organizational unit, we can understand the situation at field level. There will be an opportunity to check how workers are accepting them, and how their organizational skills are,” he added.

On Tuesday, former president of Dhaka University unit Chhatra League Saddam Hussain was chosen to lead the central committee of the organization.

Sheikh Wali Asif Enan - organizing secretary of the immediate-past central committee -was named general secretary.

Saddam was the assistant general secretary of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 30th national council of the Chhatra League that took place on December 6.

Chhatra League held its 29th council in May 2018.
