The 70th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League, will be observed on Friday.
To mark the anniversary, BCL has chalked out a four-day program.
The BCL central committee will pay tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi at 7am, on Friday.
To mark the anniversary, leaders and activists of BCL will cut a cake at Dhaka University (DU) Curzon Hall at 8am on Saturday.
Subsequently, a procession will be brought out from the Aparajeya Bangla circle on the DU campus at 10am which will parade different parts of the capital.
Later, a voluntary blood donation campaign will be organized in front of the DU arts faculty on Monday while winter clothes will be distributed among the destitute on the premises of Swoparjito Swadhinta sculpture on DU campus.
On Tuesday, a cultural program will be held at the Teacher-Student Centre.
On January 4, 1948, the Chhatra League started its journey as a student organization on the instructions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a year before the formal emergence of the Awami Muslim League.
