CU suspends JCD, BCL men over attack on athlete

The suspended leaders are Salah Uddin Ujjal and Nazmul Karim Nipun. Ujjal is joint secretary of JCD and Nipu is vice president of CU BCL unit while the both are students of Computer Science and Electronics department of CU under 2009-2010 session, said campus sources. Confirming the expulsion, Niaj Morshed Ripon, assistant proctor of CU told Dhaka Tribune: “CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury suspended the duo from the university as their names came in the attack of a national athlete who is also a CU student.” Monayebur Rahman Khan, the national boxer also a first year student of Physical Education and Sports Science department was allegedly beaten up by a group of unruly students led by the JCD leader inside a room of a AF Rahman dormitory.
