Rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country has resumed after a bogie of an oil-carrying wagon derailed inside Lawachara forest between Kamalganj and Sreemangal stations on the Sylhet-Chittagong-Dhaka railway route.
The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Friday, inside the Lawachara forest area in Moulvibazar. Train movement with Sylhet returned to normal at 8:55pm after the derailed bogie was rescued.
Sreemangal Station Master Shakhawat Hossain said rescue operations were completed after a relief train arrived, allowing rail services on the Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chattogram routes to resume. A hydraulic tool van was used to recover the wagon.
