The Maulana Zubair faction of the Tabligh Jamaat has issued a stern warning that it will strictly resist any attempts by the Maulana Saad faction to organize the Bishwa Ijtema.
This announcement was made during a press conference held in Gulshan on Thursday morning.
Habibullah Rayhan, the media coordinator for the Zubair faction, said they have decided to hold the Ijtema from January 31 to February 2 as per the government’s specified dates.
However, he emphasized that any effort by the Saad faction to take control of the Ijtema grounds would face "strong opposition" from general Muslim attendees.
In his statement, Habibullah accused the Saad faction of violating administrative directives and claimed that their actions have led to unrest.
He reiterated that the division within the Tabligh Jamaat will not disrupt the participation of regular worshippers at the Ijtema.
He further mentioned that three members of the Zubair faction were killed in a clash on Wednesday, and a murder case will be filed regarding the incident.
Habibullah added that the conflict can be resolved if Maulana Saad retracts his controversial views and apologizes.
