A Myanmar warship has been seen in the Naf River on the Myanmar side of the Naf river, close to Shapuree Dwip in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar district.

Locals saw the ship on Thursday.

A large warship was seen in the side of Myanmar on Thursday morning, three kilometers east of the Shapuree Island BOP, across the Naf river, according to locals.

Such vessels are not usually seen in the Naf river, they said.

Teknaf Battalion-2 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed said: "A big ship was seen in the waters of the Naf river. However, it is not known what kind of ship it is.”

However, now the firing has stopped on the border.

Meanwhile, last March 18, gunshots were heard across the Hnila border of Teknaf border in Cox's Bazar.

Rashed Mahmud Ali, chairman of Hnila Union Parishad, said that no sound has been received for the past few days.
