A fire that broke out at the Rifle Club building’s United Commercial Bank (UCB) Jubilee Road branch office in Chittagong’s Amtal area on Saturday evening, was brought under control.
On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 9pm.
The fire service sources said around 7pm, a fire broke out at the office of UCB in the Rifle Club building.
Four units from Chandanpura and Nandanakanan Fire Service worked to control the fire. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
UCB Bank Jubilee Road branch Manager (Operations) Md Moinuddin Chowdhury said: "The fire incident occurred around 7pm. The bank was closed at that time. I came to the scene after receiving the news from the security guard. Fire Service personnel doused the fire."
