A tragic incident unfolded as a couple in Rajbari, Boishakhi Ray and Rajan Biswas, lost all four of their newborns within a span of just 12 hours

The babies died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Shishu Hospital on Friday.

The family members said the baby boys were born at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur. They were later referred to the Dhaka hospital as their physical condition deteriorated.

Boishakhi and Rajan Biswas got married in 2019.

Rajan Biswas, father of the children, said: "I married Boishakhi in 2019. Baishakhi gave birth to our first baby boy at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur on Friday. By evening, three more sons had been born. I became a parent for the first time but God took it all away. There is no end to this suffering.”

Boishakhi is undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.

Dr Anamul Haque, director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital said the mother was very sick after the birth of the babies. “She did not have the strength to carry four children in the womb. The babies were born at 28 weeks of pregnancy. Each child weighed 800 to 900 grams.”
