Injured Dr Golam Mostafa, 50, and Rakibul Islam, 20, were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, while Md Abu Bakkar ,45, Burhan Uddin, 40, Robiul Islam, 27, Billal Mia, 22, Md Mostafa, 38, and microbus driver Kamal Uddin, 35, were admitted to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital.
Police and local sources said Sadrul, 65, also the pir of Shotosri Rijbhi Darbar Sharif in Sadar upazila of Netrakona, met the accident when he was going to attend a milad mahfil in Brhmanbaria along with his seven followers (Murid) by a microbus. A head-on collision between the microbus and a tractor in Katiarchar new Jailkhana area took place around 9pm, leaving Sadrul dead on the spot.
The body was sent to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Abdul Malek, sub-inspector of Kishoreganj model police station.
