Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No 3 in view of deep convection over North Bay.
According to Friday's Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) weather bulletin, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh as deep convection is taking place over North Bay due to an active monsoon.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Ports are asked to hoist this signal when they are threatened by squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50kmph.
