A fire that started at a market in Sylhet city's Zindabazar area on Friday afternoon, has been brought under control after half an hour.
The fire started from a shoe warehouse on the first floor of Jalalabad House around 3:30pm.
On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire at 4pm.
However, smoke was seen coming out of the building till 4:30pm.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police dispatched a number of units to the area and helped remove the vendors and customers from the structure.
A merchant claimed that the structure was home to three banks, about 50 stores, and a few warehouses.
