At least 17 shops were gutted as a fire broke out at a furniture market in Mirkadin of Munshiganj in the early hours of Sunday.
The fire broke out at a furniture shop around 12:30am and spread soon, said Abu Yusuf, senior station officer of Munshiganj fire station.
Upon receiving the information, three fire tenders were pressed into the service and it took them an hour and a half to fully douse the flames.
No casualties were reported.
It is still not clear what caused the fire. However, efforts are on to identify the reason behind it.
