Firefighters are struggling to douse the fire at a cotton warehouse in Chittagong's Sitakunda due to a lack of a constant supply of water in the area.
At around 10:30am on Saturday, a fire broke out in a cotton warehouse in Sitakunda.

Currently, 11 units from three fire service stations are working to control the fire.
However, since there's no water source nearby, the fire service is facing difficulty in controlling the fire, said Sultan Mahmud Chowdhury, senior officer of the Kumira Fire Service Station.

Right now, three units from Sitakunda, three from Kumira, and five from Agrabad are fighting to douse the fire. As it was a cotton warehouse, the fire spread quickly.”
The fire incident comes just days after an explosion at an oxygen plant in the upazila left seven dead earlier this month.
