Gazipur-3 lawmaker Mohammad Iqbal Hossain Sabuj has given away new clothes to over 100 students of Kazi Madinatul Ulum Qaumi Madrasa in Singratali on the occasion of the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On behalf of the MP, Bhawalgarh Union Chhatra League Joint Convenor Sadiqul Islam distributed the clothes – pajamas and Panjabi – on the madrasa premises at around 11:30am on Friday.
He also handed over a rickshaw to poor Saiful Islam of Shirirchala area.
Saiful Islam told reporters that the rickshaw would help him earn enough money to feed his family of five.
Two fruit tree saplings were also planted on the occasion.
Gazipur Sadar Upazila Jubo League leaders Sharif Uddin and Hasan Ali, and former Chhatra League member Solaiman Khan were also present at the event.
