Police on Monday recovered the remains of one more body from inside the BM Container Depot in Chittagong’s Sitakunda, eight days after the deadly fire.
A bone with the flesh of a human being was recovered from the depot around 2:30 pm while removing the containers, said Sumon Banik, OC of Sitakunda Police Station.
The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital for DNA test.
The death toll from the BM Container Depot fire rose to 49 as two injured victims died at a private hospital in Chittagong and at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday.
A fire and subsequent blasts at BM Container Depot at Sitakunda of Chittagong left over 200 people injured on June 4. At least 10 of the deceased are firefighters.
