A former official of Krishi Bank has hanged himself from the ceiling of his house in Agailjhara Upazila of Barisal following a family fued.
The deceased Bikash Mandal, 60, hails from West Sujankathi village under Gaila union.
Agailjhara Police Inspector (Investigation) Mazharul Islam said that Bikash committed suicide by hanging himself with a fan at his house on Sunday afternoon.
His wife Bulu Mandal said that when their family got into a feud over a triffling matter, Bikash hanged himself.
Later, local people rushed him to the upazila health complex where the on-duty doctor, Ankur Karmakar, declared him dead.
Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the hospital and took the body to police station.
Inspector Mazharul said: “An unnatural death case has been filed over the incident. The body was sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
