Police recovered the hanging body of a college girl from a rented house in Green Road area of Barguna town on Friday.
Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge (investigation) at Barguna Sadar police station, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said that she had placed her phone on top of a refrigerator in the room. It seems that she was on a video call during the incident. Her mother was away at that time.

The deceased was identified as Jerin, 18, daughter of expatriate Jalil Mridha from Napitkhali area of the district.
Jerin used to live with her mother.
According to police, neighbours saw the gate closed in the morning, and out of suspicion, they knocked on it. After getting no response, they peeked through the window and saw her hanging body.

Later, they called 999 and police reached the scene. They broke into the house and recovered the body.
Police said that they were investigating the incident and were waiting for the autopsy report.
