Two people died after being hit by trains in two separate incidents in Gazipur on Sunday.
The deceased, a man and a woman, are yet to be identified.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Nur Mohammad Khan of Tongi railway police said the man was crushed under the train as he was crossing the tracks at Madhumita Railgate around 12:30am. He died on the spot.
Meanwhile at 10pm, the woman was hit by the engine of a Dhaka-bound Parabat Express train at Tongi's Notun Bazar, leaving her seriously injured. She died while being taken to a hospital nearby, the SI added.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman walking along the railway line.
The bodies have been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
