A female Union Parishad (UP) member has been found dead in Bogra’s Dhunat four days after she went missing.
The decomposed body of Reshma Khatun, 38, of the Mathurapur union was spotted by locals at a paddy field on Wednesday, said UP Chairman Harun-ur-Rashid Selim.
Reshma has been missing since Saturday when she left home for nearby Sherpur for treatment purposes. Later in the evening her cell phone was found switched off when relatives tried to reach her.
“We searched all the possible places but couldn’t find her,” said her husband Faridul Islam, before adding they didn’t file a missing report with the police then.

“The body has been sent to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) for autopsy,” said Officer-in-Charge of Dhunat police station Kripa Sindhu.
“The cause of death will be known after the autopsy report is available, as the body has decomposed,” he said
A murder case has been filed by the victim’s brother against unidentified people with the Dhunat police station.
