MP slaps former UP member, video goes viral

  • Took place during a procession
  • Slapped Up member has no complaint

Member of Parliament (MP) for Natore-4 constituency Siddiqur Rahman Patwari slapped a former UP member in public. 

A video of the slapping incident went viral on social media Facebook on Wednesday.

The video shows that the leader and workers were cheering in a procession in the Banpara market of Baraigram. At one stage of the procession, Ferdous, a former member of the Juari union parishad, came to the MP to say something. MP Siddique Patwari lost his temper and slapped the leader with his left hand. 

After the slap, the leader moved away, but MP Siddiqur Rahman was seen dancing along with clapping in the procession.

Ferdous, who was slapped, was a former member of the Juari Union Parishad of Baraigram upazila. He said: “I went to him to give him a piece of important news. But he slapped me before hearing the news. However, I have no complaints to make.”

Following the announcement of the schedule for the 12th national parliamentary elections on Wednesday evening, Siddiqur Rahman, the Member of Parliament representing the Natore-4 Constituency, led his supporters in a joyful procession at Banpara Bazar in Baraigram Upazila.
