A man died in Narsingdi when two speedboats collided in the Meghna River on Monday night.
The deceased Hanif Mian, 60, son of Suruj Mian was from Banchrampur in Brahmanbaria.
Mahbub Alam, in-charge of Karimpur River police post told Dhaka Tribune the incident took place in Champak Nagar area when two speedboats collided head-on around 7pm.
A child named Faria Nahid remains missing till now, he said, adding that a total of 11 people including two injured were rescued from the scene of the accident, said Mahbub Alam.
The rescue operation is underway, he added.
