Gunmaking factory busted in Cox’s Bazar, 2 held

Acting on secret information, the RAB members carried out the raid on Friday night

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two gunmakers and seized locally-made  weapons in a raid at a gun making factory in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar.

The law enforcers conducted the raid at 8pm on Friday near Madhurchhara hills of Palangkhali union, said RAB-15 Deputy Commander Mehedi Hasan.

The arrestees are Abu Mazid alias Kana Mazid and Robi Alam.

According to RAB, the arrestees had been making various weapons and supplying them to Rohingya robbers for a long time.

Major Mehedi said: “Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB conducted a raid in the area. We detained two men during the raid.”

“We also recovered two local guns, two bullets, and some weapon making tools from a house in the area.”
