The DNA samples of the six suspected rapists -- who were arrested in connection to the gang-rape of a young woman at MC College dormitory in Sylhet -- have been collected for further investigation.
Officials of One Stop Crisis Centre of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital collected their samples around 1pm on Thursday, confirmed SI Faruk Ahmed, incharge for the hospital’s police outpost.
Earlier, six accused were brought to the hospital at around 1:00 pm amid tight security. After collecting the samples, they were taken back to Shahparan police station at 2:45 pm.
The six rapists tied up the husband and gang-raped his wife at the MC College dormitory in Sylhet on Friday. The housewife’s husband filed a case against nine of them, naming six others. The court granted remand to eight accused arrested in the incident for five days.
