An upazila engineer and assistant engineer have been suspended for poor quality construction works in government projects.
They are, Bauphal upazila Engineer Md Sultan Hossain, and Tongibari upazila Assistant Engineer Md Saddam Hossain.
Separate gazette notifications were issued on Thursday by the Local Government Division in this regard.
Sultan Hossain was suspended for low quality infrastructural work of Kismat Sreenagar Government Primary School in Bauphal and Saddam Hossain was accused of renovating a rural road below standard in Tongibari of Munshiganj.
Earlier, a high-powered committee of engineers formed at the directive of LGRD Minister Md Tajul Islam, spotted the exploitation committed by the duo.
They were suspended after investigation confirmed their involvement with the below standard construction works, said a press release of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Ministry.
The body that has been reevaluating and visiting government projects across the country also directed to file a case against Munshiganj's Executive Engineer Md Rafikul Hasan for his failure to monitor the standard of the construction projects.
