A carpenter was hacked to death in Rajbari Sadar's Lakkhikil area on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Tuhin Sekh, son of Md Abul Sekh, of the locality.
The incident took place around 10:30pm when the man was out for a walk after dinner near his home, according to his younger brother Shobuj Sheikh.
After Tuhin sustained an injury to his throat in the attack, he was rushed to Rajbari General Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Rajbari Sadar police station OC, Shawaon Kumar Majumdar, said police are on a drive to arrest the culprits involved in the murder. "The body was taken to the hospital morgue for an autopsy and further legal proceedings are underway."
