The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) authorities have terminated 10 doctors and a store keeper from service for not joining a newly launched Covid-19 isolation centre run by the city corporation.
An office order was issued in this regard on Tuesday.
According to the office order signed by the city corporation secretary, the doctors and the storekeeper were fired from the job for not joining their workplace.
On Sunday, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the 250-bed Covid-19 isolation centre in the city's Agrabad Access Road.
The isolation centre is scheduled to start its operation on Wednesday.
The sacked medical officers are: Dr Siddhartho Shankar Devnath, Dr Faridul Alam, Dr Abdul Majid Shikdar, Dr Selina Akhter, Dr Bijoy Talukdar, Dr Mohon Das, Dr Iftekharul Islam, Dr Sandipan Rudro, Dr Himel Acharjee, and Dr Prosenjit Mitra.
The storekeeper is Mohsin Kabir.
