A patient with symptoms similar to the new coronavirus (Covid-19), died on the way to Rajbari after not getting treatment at a Dhaka hospital.
The deceased 60-year-old was admitted to the Rajbari Sadar Hospital on Tuesday morning with fever, cough, cold and respiratory problems on Tuesday.
District Civil Surgeon Nurul Islam confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “After the doctors did their check-up, they referred the elderly man to the Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital in Dhaka. But, when he was taken there, they told him to go elsewhere.”
“The man died on the way back to Rajbari around 8pm on Tuesday,” he said.
Earlier, an official of the Sadar Upazila Education Office was sent to Dhaka to be tested for Covid- 19. His report came back as negative.
