A teenage boy has died after falling from the roof of a moving train in the capital.
The incident took place at around 3:30pm on Saturday at Gandaria Railway Station. The deceased, Ashradul, 13, was reportedly a resident of the Hasnabad area in Keraniganj.
According to Yusuf, a passenger who took the boy to hospital, Ashradul fell from the roof of a Narayanganj-bound moving train and was critically injured. He, along with others present, rescued the boy and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 4:15pm.
After examination, the on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 5:30pm.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police outpost at the hospital, said: “The body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.”
