A businessman, Md Al-Mokabbar Islam (33), died after falling from the roof of an 11-storey building in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area. The incident occurred around noon on Saturday.
Sub-Inspector Mohammad Rajib Hossain of Dhanmondi Police Station said the body was recovered at around 12:30pm from a concrete surface in the gap between flats 1A and 1B of house number 31 on Road 11 in Dhanmondi. The body was later sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy following legal procedures.
The SI said: “After speaking with the victim’s relatives, we were told that Al-Mokabbar accidentally fell from the roof of the 11-storey building. He died on the spot. However, the body has been kept at the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.”
