A large sinkhole has formed on Dhanmondi Road No 9 in the capital, in front of the German Cultural Center at a three-road intersection, causing severe hardship for pedestrians and vehicles.
Locals said a small hole first appeared on the road during rains two days ago on Sunday, but it expanded rapidly due to a lack of timely repair.
The sinkhole has now widened significantly, forcing vehicles to move with caution and pedestrians to risk navigating the damaged section.
Residents have urged the concerned authorities to repair the road urgently, warning that further delay could worsen the damage and increase the risk of accidents.
