The government will sue people under the Digital Security Act for sharing or publishing misleading or unverified information on social media or through any other means during the 10-day general holiday imposed to fight the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
People have been requested to be vigilant against the spread of such misinformation during the course of the coronavirus pandemic, said a press release issued by the Press Information Department (PID) on Saturday.
PID has also asked all to verify any information found on social media or other sources.
The government also requested all to call 999 or the PID phones at 9512264, 9514988 or email [email protected] to notify any false or incorrect information.
