The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that the current heat wave—in some parts of the country—may continue for the next 24 hours, till Wednesday.
“A mild heat wave is sweeping over the Khulna and Dhaka divisions—plus the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Barisal, Patuakhali, and Noakhali—and it may continue”, wrote a Met office bulletin issued on Tuesday, reports BSS.
The bulletin added: “Day and night temperatures may rise, slightly, across the country.”
The met office also predicted rain and said: “Rain or thundershowers—accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind—are likely to occur in a few places in the Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions; and in one-or-two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chittagong, and the regions of Jessore and Kushtia.”
However, the weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
The highest temperature recorded on Monday was 37.8 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and the minimum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 21 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh and Netrokona.
In the capital, the sun will set at 6:40pm on Tuesday and rise at 5:12am on Wednesday.
