A lighter vessel, Sea Crown, has capsized near Shah Amanat Bridge in Karnaphuli river.
The incident occurred owing to a nor'wester early Thursday.
Nodi Alam, general secretary of Bangladesh Lighter Vessel Workers Union, confirmed the matter.
The lighter vessel , laden with stone, was tied to a private terminal at Isanagar on the south bank of the river and waiting to get unloaded.
No casualty was reported till the filing of this report.
