Nine houses were gutted when a fire broke out at Konabari Purbopara, in Gazipur, on Friday night.
Jakir Hossain, senior official of Joydebpur Fire Service, said the fire broke out at Habibur Rahman's house around 10:45pm and soon engulfed nine adjoining houses, reports UNB.
Two firefighting units responded to the scene and doused the fire within two hours.
The loss caused by the fire was estimated at Tk20 lakh, said Fire Service sources.
