People across the nation still continued to mourn and seek justice for Nusrat, with human chains and demonstrations in multiple districts on Thursday.
So far, 17 people have been arrested in connection with her murder. The 18-year-old madrasah student was set on fire by four burqa-clad assailants on April 6, a little before sitting for her Alim examination.
In Khulna, members of the Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Council formed a human chain at the municipality’s Shib Bari intersection.
The demonstration sought stern punishment for Nusrat’s murderers and expressed condolences to her bereaved family.
In Madaripur, the district National Children's Task Force unit organized a human chain, seeking maximum punishment for Nusrat’s murderers.
A memorandum in this regard, was sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Office, through Madaripur Deputy Commissioner, Md Wahidul Islam.

The demonstration organized on the Donovan Government Girls High School premises saw participation from its students also.
In Pabna, a human chain was formed in front of the district Press Club, demanding Nusrat’s murderer’s be brought to justice and receive stern punishment.
After the hour-long human chain, students from various educational institutions and a local social media group, organized a protest rally through town.
In Tangail, protesting Nusrat’s murder and the incident in which a woman was gang-raped before her husband in the district, a human chain was formed in front of the Shaheed Minar at the Nirala intersection.
The demonstration led by Mahila Awami League, condemned the recurring aggression against women and girls and voiced their concerns.
